THE ARTIST BEHIND THE LENS

A PEEK BEHIND THE CAMERA
Photography, for me, has always been about more than taking pictures.
After spending 22 years in military service, I learned the value of legacy, presence, and honoring people for who they are—not just what they do. That perspective shapes everything I create behind the camera. I don’t photograph moments to be forgotten. I create portraits meant to be remembered.
I do this work because too many people have never truly seen themselves reflected in a photograph with intention, care, and respect—especially individuals with melanin-rich skin tones. I understand how lighting, color, and nuance can either diminish or elevate a subject. My purpose is to elevate.
I believe everyone deserves to feel confident in front of the camera, regardless of past experiences. Many of my clients arrive saying, “I’ve never liked photos of myself.” My goal is to change that narrative—by guiding, not posing; by creating space, not pressure. This work matters to me because portraits become part of a person’s story. They mark transitions, growth, self-worth, and identity. Whether I’m photographing a professional brand, a personal milestone, or a deeply intimate moment, I approach every session with the same intention: to honor the person in front of my lens.
That is why I do this. Not for trends. Not for speed. But for meaning, confidence, and legacy.
“I don’t just take photographs. I honor people through portraiture.”
